What a Week!

Wow, time sure does fly when you’re busy as a bee! Honestly, it didn’t even really occur to me until yesterday that I should probably post something. So here I am, finally doing it.

So, last week, Wednesday through Saturday, my mother and I went camping with a group of members from the church that we belong to. It was honestly a great experience, with lots of love and candy. Lots of candy. I almost felt sick with how much candy I ate. Sugar is my kryptonite.

Last Saturday my mom and I got back around eleven in the morning. We rested for about an hour, and then we proceeded to help my brother move out of our house. This brother is married and his wife is pregnant. So, this is going to be a long explanation. Our house is kind of arranged like it was meant to be an Airbnb. On the main level you have the kitchen and the family rooms, and the top level is the master bedroom and other rooms. But the basement has its own kitchen, a few rooms, and its own master bedroom, except this one isn’t nearly as big as the one upstairs. I’m one of the lucky children in our family and my room is this second master bedroom.

When my brother got married, he and his wife took my room, because my mom said that any couple needed their own bathroom. (My room has a connecting bathroom.) When that happened, I was kicked upstairs to sleep and live in my little sister’s room, which wasn’t too bad. But now that my brother and his wife have their own apartment, I have my room back.

Moving back in took a lot of work. I have a ton of stuff, probably because I’m used to living in such large rooms without sharing with anyone else. That will probably be a problem when I leave home, hah hah. But in the meantime, I have my old room all to myself, and it is currently very neatly organized. But we all know that that will change with time. I’m one of those people who likes order, but doesn’t particularly care if there is some controlled chaos.

On Saturday I saw my older sister for the first time in over a month. I got a little emotional, though of course she was pretty much unaffected. This is the sister that is going to be editing my book. In fact, she told me later that she actually lost my book, so I sent it to her again. She said she doubted she would have had any time to look at it anyway since she also went on vacation to a foreign country during that time.

Now, I think it is time to get back into the daily grind of things, don’t you? It’s been a very busy couple of months, but everything has pretty much died back down now, so hopefully I’ll be able to find it within myself to write instead of just reading all day. Which, of course, is such a good option as well. Now, I’m going to go leave because I think I hear my to-be-read list calling my name . . .

Sincerly,

Sally
