College, Break Ups, and Twitter

A LOT has happened since I last wrote. First of all, I finally started college. It’s been a difficult transition, mostly because I broke up with my boyfriend the week before I moved onto campus . . . I don’t think I have to explain that one.

In addition to that mess, my parents decided to move across the United States in that same week. Family drama, new place, extra homework, no sleep . . . it’s all been very difficult.

But hey, I’m still alive, and I’m actually doing pretty good. I finally got a Twitter, and I’m already almost to a hundred followers on there, which makes me mad because it took me forever to get that much on TikTok, and I definitely try harder on TikTok.

I paid for a promotion on TikTok for my book. If an author is reading this, don’t do that. It isn’t worth the money. Really, BookTok is great and all, but you’re not going to sell books from it.

I want to do traditional publishing for my next book, but I think the only way to achieve that is to get my first book to sell. Thus, I am focusing most of my attention on marketing. However, a new book idea smacked me over the head and literally all I want to do is write it. And cry. But that’s not very productive.

Yesterday I bought eighty dollars worth of candy, mostly because sugar makes me feel better. Right now I should be doing homework, but I really just don’t feel like it. I’ve also been having a lot of technical difficulties with my new apartment and just living on campus, and I’m extremely frustrated. Needless to say, I’ve lost my motivation for the time being.

I probably won’t write here regularly, so I’m not even going to try to promise to do so. Besides, I have a newsletter now, so if you really cared, you would sign up for that . . . I’m not saying, I’m just saying.

Anyway, that’s all for now. I’ll see you whenever I next remember this website exists.

Your friend,

Sally
